In the field of building insulation, rock wool blankets have become a core choice for energy-efficient projects due to their exceptional performance. As an industry leader, SUNTHERM Group has dedicated over 30 years to advancing rock wool technology. Combining innovative manufacturing processes with eco-friendly principles, SUNTHERM delivers a versatile range of rock wool blanket products that drive sustainable building development worldwide.

SUNTHERM’s rock wool blankets begin with the meticulous selection of natural volcanic rocks, such as basalt. These are melted at 1500 °C and spun into micron-scale fibers using a four-roll centrifugal blowing process. This method preserves the natural fire-resistant properties of volcanic rock while achieving a thermal conductivity as low as 0.03 W/(m·K), maintaining structural stability even at 500 °C. The proprietary three-stage curing process overcomes the common water absorption issue of rock wool, achieving a water uptake ≤1% and international-standard waterproofing, extending product lifespan to over 25 years.

The product range serves multiple sectors:

Construction: A-grade fire-resistant rock wool blankets effectively block flame spread, applied in projects such as Beijing Daxing Airport, helping reduce building energy consumption by 30–45%.

Industrial: High-temperature (up to 1000 °C) rock wool rolls provide 100 MPa compressive strength, withstand equipment vibration, and reduce heat loss by 18%.

Agriculture: Low-density rock wool mats balance breathability and water retention, capturing over 40% of the market share.

SUNTHERM is committed to green development, operating the industry’s first “zero-carbon factory.” Waste heat recovery systems increase thermal efficiency to 92%, and carbon emissions per unit decreased 58% compared to 2019. A digital traceability platform enables full product lifecycle management, with waste recycling rates reaching 85%, creating a circular economy.

Looking forward, SUNTHERM Group will continue to advance material science research, promote intelligent and customized production, and innovate functional composite solutions. The goal is to provide customers worldwide with more efficient, environmentally friendly building insulation solutions, leading the industry toward a sustainable future.
